Bukittinggi


West Sumatera is one of place tourism which position in Indonesia. There are many beautiful cities which have good view. Tourists can find the interesting things, many cultures, different languages and special foods. One of the cities for object tourism is Bukittinggi.
Bukittinggi is located in Bukit Barisan sequence and there are three fire mountains; Singgalang Mountain, Marapi Mountain, and Sago Mountain. This city has balmy weather. There are two famous hotels in Bukittinggi; they are The Hills and Hotel Pusako.
Tourists can see a Jam Gadang – an icon of Bukittinggi – was built by the Dutch. They can buy some things with cheap price in Pasar Atas and Pasar Bawah. Ngarai Sianok is one of object tourism. Panorama is located in Bukittinggi make the tourists see the view of Ngarai Sianok easily. Lubang Japang in Panorama is a network of underground bunkers and tunnels was built by the Japanese during World War II. Please come to Taman Bundo Kanduang, the park includes a replica Rumah Gadang used as a museum Minangkabau culture and a Kebun Binatang Kinantan.
Do not forget to see a Museum Bung Hatta birthplace, the house where “Indonesian Founding Father” Mohammad Hatta was born. Finally for gift brought back from Bukittinggi, tourists have to buy Cassava Chips which has different taste and shape such as Karupuak Sanjai, Karupuak Jangek and Karak Kaliang. Try to eat Es Goreng near Benteng Fort De Kock, you can find the unique taste.
